Hi, I’m Susan Snell, and I’ve had a needle, thread, and seam ripper in my hand since I was a little girl learning to sew. For over 25 years, I’ve shared hands-on skills with children through homeschooling co-ops, scouting programs like Boy Scouts and American Heritage Girls, and now through sewing classes. I especially love making memory quilts for my family—each one stitched with love and care.
Sewing is a beautiful, often overlooked art that teaches patience, creativity, and confidence. I believe it’s a life skill that brings lasting value, and I’m passionate about keeping it alive for the next generation.
In my classes, I offer a relaxed, student-paced environment where learners do 99% of the work themselves. This helps them build real confidence in their abilities. Every class is hands-on, personalized, and encouraging—because I know students thrive when they feel safe and supported.
But don’t just take my word for it—check out the reviews to see what others are saying about their experience in class!

It’s a great class and I love it! It’s hard to choose my favorite project, I liked making the Japanese knot bag and the animal sleeping bag.

Susan is a wonderful teacher! My girls have learned so much and can’t wait for their next class! I have also enjoyed many hours in her studio, using her machines to make my creations. Highly recommend!

Susan is very knowledgeable and provides a calm and peaceful environment to work and learn. She helped me problem solve altering my daughter’s prom dress and using one of her machines made the project go so smoothly. The dress turned out perfect!
